Do and Don’t You Should Follow While Teaching Online.

As a teacher, you have lots of curiosity and confusion when teaching online. And the tips for the same are available all through the internet. However, all of them may not be the right guide for you. There are several rules to follow and some to skip when teaching online. So, just for dedicated teachers like you, we have a list of dos and don’ts. Read about them below:

  • Do prepare for the classes way in advance – Every class that you attend is a chain that connects you to our students better. Make the most of them. It certainly doesn’t seem practical to waste time preparing the notes and study material while the students are waiting online. Prepare everything beforehand so that you have a good time to interact with the kids during your online classes.
  • Do Not Create an Obstacle Course in Your Online Classroom — Getting this material out of an online classroom can be like completing an obstacle course at times. Students should not have to overcome obstacles in order to learn how to excel in a course. They shouldn’t have to spend a half-hour scrolling and then be completely lost. Make your course simple to follow. If this is your first time creating an online course, invite friends and family to test it out before you start teaching. Tell them you rely on them to be truthful. Then pay attention to their suggestions and revise the course. Remember that student satisfaction for better or worse begins right away!
  • Do record your classes – Online classes provide you a great benefit of recording your classes. This can be an amazing study material for the future references of your students and might even work when you have multiple tasks to manage at the same time. You can even keep it as a proof to show the higher authorities and the parents that you did your work well in case there is an issue about it.
  • Do NOT Minimize Student Choice — Minimizing student choice can be as easy as refusing to let students who dislike writing to respond by filming video or recording voice instead. Punishing student engagement can be as simple as admonishing students in a discussion forum if they wander from course subjects to personal experience. Let them try, encourage them and make them comfortable in this surrounding for greater interaction and good results.
  • Do use a reliable online teaching application – There might be a plethora of options available for teaching online. But remember, not all of them provide you with different factors like easy examination techniques, convenient ways to store your study materials, unlimited student entry and time limit and so on. An app that is secure and completely efficient is the best option for teachers and that is what you need to find.
  • Do not monopolize the classes – We know you are eager to teach and impart knowledge. But that doesn’t mean you need to keep on speaking in the class and don’t give time for interaction between students. Virtual classes require more one to one communication to ensure the kids understand everything better and even relate to you.

Teaching online, as we all know, is nothing less than a challenge. But if you keep in mind these dos and don’ts, we know you will be the best teacher in both virtual and physical teaching rooms.
